[It's kind of a good thing this all hurts so much or he'd be really distracted by Jusis actually willingly touching his bare skin. He is actually a bit, but he is determined not to show it, so he doesn't. He just quietly allows Jusis to work, staring off at nothing while he does.
He's fine. He's not upset about the injuries or how he got them. He's not thinking about how they could have sent someone else to do this and how he's known all along it was in part a test of loyalty. He's not in over his head and he doesn't want affection from Jusis. He just wants to take a nap, that's all.]
[AMAZING. Almost like Jusis would probably touch his brother without force and coercion involved. He's concentrating on what he's doing but that doesn't mean he's not aware of Rufus's tension.
He directs Rufus to turn around, starts on the injuries on his back, quiet for a while longer, but too aware of Rufus's stiff posture, and sure it can't all be the pain.]
[Sorry he was zoning out. Another thing not like him -- letting his guard down is just wrong. But he's repressing a whole lot of emotion and he's extremely tired and even someone as strong and smart as he is would wear down under that pressure.]
[A bigger part of him than he'd like to acknowledge wants to lean into Jusis' hand. He doesn't. He just sighs, gathering his wits about him and banishing that moment of vulnerability. He wishes he could set that part of him on fire and burn it out. He didn't really know it existed til recently and he doesn't need it.
He swats Jusis' hand away, not harshly, just mildly exasperated, and starts to pull his shirt back on.]
I can want to treat you well without thinking of you as a child, you know. In fact, that's all I've ever wanted. To make you happy and proud and comfortable. It has nothing to do with looking down on you.
[Mmmmmnnnnggghh. He doesn't want to wake up. He's so tired! But he's also a liiittle bit paranoid so he's quick to jolt awake as soon as Jusis tries.]
Mm?
[He's groggy though. He's not in any real danger but he is really really worn out, and adding that to his messy appearance, he looks like he just climbed out of a barn loft or something.]
[That's reasonable. He's not complaining about this part. He's just taking a moment to get up, shoving his hair back out of his face and rubbing the sleep out of his eyes. He feels like a used dishrag honestly, and he looks kind of like one, but rest should fix all that.]
You can go home.
[As soon as Rufus is up he's moving as gracefully as ever, if a little stiffly. Everything is fine, see? He's lightly stepping out of the transport and eyeing the clinic doors with a dignified yawn.]
There are people I need to contact. Don't start arguing with me this time.
[But ignored. Even beaten up Rufus has a powerful presence, so he's going to hope Jusis being annoying doesn't actually stop anyone from giving him what he wants.]
[He's oh so politely asking the staff, before slipping off to another room to make calls. There are people he needs to talk to before someone tries to medicate him. BYE JUSIS.]
He lets the staff shuffle him out, gives the number of his burner phone to a nurse requesting she call him when Rufus is attended to, as well as a note for Rufus, and heads back out to leave. Soon enough this place is likely to be crawling with people Jusis doesn't want to deal with.]
[That's fine too. Rufus is completely confident that he can have Jusis brought home any time he likes. So he's just going to call his boss and his aides and start trying to make up for this mistake.
He does get treatment, it just takes awhile, but eventually after some drugs and another nap he'll get Jusis' note, while the nurse makes that call.]

Get some rest.

What the hell was that? He's so startled he jumps, looking up at Jusis with a totally uncharacteristic wide-eyed expression.]
...Right.
[Stop throwing him off, Jusis!!]

No one will disturb you until we're at a doctor. If you can sleep it might be a good idea. I'll be right here.

I'm not a child, Jusis. Don't try to mother me.

That depends on what you need.

[Rufus is so fuckin tired he's not even trying anymore. Just leave him alone and let him sleep!]
no subject
If you insist. Do you want to use my lap as a pillow?
no subject
[No he's just going to flop back in his seat and try to pass out. Let him nap!]
no subject
Until they reach a clinic and Jusis is harassing his brother up again.]

You are getting checked up, not starting new trouble.

[Jusis can follow him. That's fine. Rufus is going inside and immediately heading to charm someone into giving him a phone.]

[It's not like he wants to isolate Rufus like he's been isolated but he's trying to prioritize here. MEDICAL TREATMENT FIRST RUFUS.]

[But ignored. Even beaten up Rufus has a powerful presence, so he's going to hope Jusis being annoying doesn't actually stop anyone from giving him what he wants.]
